Sashi.Co & Keiko Futatsuya has a good partnership with Coron manufacture and Keiko obtain the permission to distribute their thread in the United States for us. We appreciate good feedback to the "Keiko Design.Pattern Fabric" for the year of 2019. After the first batch of the fabric (19) being sold out, we decided to continue offering the "Keiko Deisng. Pattern Fabric" for the year of 2020. Similar to the previous fabric, we offer as a DIY Introductory package. Also, we would like to offer just fabric for those who have purchased the Keiko Fabric (19) and/or those who have completed the Online Sashiko Class.
This is a good introductory package to enjoy Sashiko as we do after watching some Youtube Videos, or good design to apply the "Core & Essence" I offer in Online Sashiko Class & In-person workshops.
This Package includes:
- Main Indigo Fabric with Keiko's Design 2020 (Pattern pre-printed) // Fabric Size about 29" x 12", the pattern size: about 24" x 8".
- (A bit larger fabric is available with a sightly more pricing. The fabric size of 29" x 15" - the pattern size is the same. The difference is margin).
- Kasuri look (printed) fabric for the back fabric (for lining to cover the wrong side of the main fabric) - The Kasuri-look fabric may be different from the one on the photo. Please contact Atsushi for the details.
- 1 skein of Sashiko thread | White Color | #12
- 3 of Sashiko needles
- 1 of Sashiko thimble
- 1 Chalk Pencil (to reinforce the pattern just in case)

Unlike the other "mass-produced" Sashiko kits, our kit package doesn't include a piece of paper with the instruction/direction of how to do Sashiko stitching. It is because each project requires a different instruction and unique strategy. I believe that providing a certain rule and regulation will be an obstacle of the purpose of "enjoyable" Sashiko.
I thought of 5 strategies to enjoy this practice kit when Keiko gave me the sample. Each strategy isn't about being right or wrong. It is simply my preference based on my feeling. You can get the general information & how to find your own strategy before enjoying Sashiko stitching in one of our Sashiko workshop (in-person and/or online class). Please consider taking them after (or even before) enjoying this practice kit.
Besides the instruction of how to proceed this practice kit, the other basic Sashiko technique can be found on our Youtube. Because of the limited capacity in support, we answers to the technical questions for those who took the workshop before. If you spend a good amount of time in watching the Youtube Videos & our website, you should be able to get the basic.

Because of our business size, we do not have a large inventory. Therefore, from time to time, the threads get sold out. Coron Sashiko Thread is one of the best Sashiko thread.
We have been so many years of relationship with Coron Thread Manufacture Company. We sincerely believe their thread is one of the best thread available in the market. They are made in Japan and made from Egyptian Cotton 100%. They aren’t the cheapest option, but the price is reasonable considering the length of thread (145-meters) and the quality. In fact, it is the best option to get the better Sashiko result. I always use Coron Sashiko Thread and merely use the other brand thread.
