What we do.
We strive to introduce Japanese Upcycle Craft, “hand-made” natural products/services, which appreciate the tradition and nature, up-cycling what we have(had) been cultivating.
Upcycle Stitches LLC has three key-words to operate its business.
- Upcycle
- Natural
- Japanese
Our main product/service is deeply related to Traditional Japanese stitching culture, Sashiko (刺し子). Atsushi, the owner of Upcycle Stitches LLC, is a Sashiko artist. Also, Keiko Futatsuya (Atsushi’s mother) contribute to the company on behalf of her business in Japan so called Sashi.Co & Keiko Futatsuya.
We step forward slowly, but surely, to introduce Japanese Upcycle Craft.
I, Atsushi Futatsuya, introduce Japanese Upcycle culture by sharing my profession, Sashiko stitching. We host Sashiko workshops, provide online tutorials, sell Sashiko related goods and supplies, and answer questions from customers on this website. I hope this website will be an information platform for Sashiko stitching, as the start of my company’s mission, to introduce Japanese Upcylce Craft.
Also, I am wishing to make Sashiko technique available for anyone in the world. So, making Sashiko technique “open-source (available to anyone to use, learn, arrange and enjoy)” is my ultimate goal.
My mother, Keiko Futatsuya, is a wonderful Sashiko artist, who works more like a Sashiko producer recently with her business. Her Sashiko arts have been impressing many people in multiple countries.
We would like to be a group of artists, who enjoy Japanese craft.
We look forward meeting many artists in the world who share the similar value and culture. Contact us if you are interested in being a part of US
*Please be advised that there is some requirements and selection process to be the artist member.
