Product Details

In 2018, "One of a Kind" Indigo Dye Sashiko thread made by an accident became the most popular Sashiko thread in our store. We had only a few skeins in stock, and many shared their disappointment in not being get them.

In 2019, we successfully created the similar color of both "Uneven (gradient)" and "Variegated" color for Blue and Green from Indigo. It is our pleasure to announce the new batch startiubg 2020, for the Murazome Natural Dye Sashiko Thread.

...Well. Since all of the thread are "One of a kind", I probably did not need to separate the product from the 2019 Collection. However. I just wanted to update what is the color shade looks like for now. Again, every skein has different shade and color-scatter. Please be advised that the photos are only the benchmark. We cannot guarantee that you will get the exactly same skein as the photo shows, but I can guarantee that you will get the best "one of a kind". If you have any preference (for example, Darker Shade Green in M3 More Uneven), please write it down when you check out. I will do my best to match the color from our inventory.

【Update October 2022】

We no longer specify the color & shade difference by batch number on our website. We records batch numbers as record, but they are all similar looking, yet "One of a kind". If you have any specific preferebce, please let me know by filling the comment at the check out. I will do my best to meet your request. I sincerely appreciate your understanding.

*The Current Batch is the first 13 photos & I keep the previous batch as the comparisons. Thank you.

Indigo Murazome Collection

M0-(20S) Series - Variegated (Strong change in color) Blue -

M1-(20S) Series - Variegated (strong change in color) Green -

M2 (20S) Series - Uneven (Gradient as Uneven) Blue - As Photo shows, we have "Lighter Shade" and "Dark Shade" now. Please specify if you have preference.

M3-(20S) Series - Uneven (gradient as uneven) Green - As Photo shows, we have "Lighter Shade" and "Dark Shade" now. Please specify if you have preference.

*The difference between "Variegated" and "Uneven" is either we intend to variegated or not. There is a level of "Unevenness" in M2 and M3, and some may look more like variegated than the uneven. Unfortunately we cannot continue this "Unevenness". When you have a preference, please leave your preference in the check out Comment section. Thank you.

*Again (Sorry for repeating so many times), please understand that each skein have slightly different color. The photo is our best effort to put the numbers on. If you have any preferences, please let us know by commenting in a process of checking out. We will do our best to meet your preferences.

*The Murazome Collection 2020 is slightly "less shinny" in its color in comprison to the one fromn 2017~2019 batch. I prefer ”matte" in Sashiko thread, but if you prefer a bit of shinny thread, please check the Murazome Collection 2019. Very limited amount and will not be able to produce the shinny thread for 2020. Please visit the 2019 Murazome Collection here.

Coron Sashiko Thread #10 Coron Sashiko Thread #15

Coron Sashiko Thread is one of the best Sashiko thread.

We have been so many years of relationship with Coron Thread Manufacture Company. We sincerely believe their thread is one of the best thread available in the market. They are made in Japan and made from Egyptian Cotton 100%. They aren’t the cheapest option, but the price is reasonable considering the length of thread (145-meters) and the quality. In fact, it is the best option to get the better Sashiko result. I always use Coron Sashiko Thread and merely use the other brand thread.

I hope you find these thread appropriate (the best) to your Sashiko project.
